DAVIS, CA – Far West Equipment Dealers Association (FWEDA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Wilker as its independent Dealer Development Consultant.

Wilker’s technical expertise will support FWEDA dealer members to improve their sales and service operations, expand market share and identify new markets, recognize and resolve business challenges, and provide dealership employees with training and education opportunities in sales and customer service. He will be a liaison between dealerships, industry partners and FWEDA to facilitate its Dealer Helpline resources, products and services (financial, legal, human resources, technical, etc.).

Wilker will oversee FWEDA’s forthcoming Dealer Pathways Program, which will include a combination of outreach to attract new talent to the equipment industry, and an online onboarding and learning management system for dealership employees.

Wilker has 35 years of experience in Aftermarket Management & Training, which includes 18 years as an Aftermarket Manager at South Dakota-based C & B Operations where he implemented programs and guidelines that increased sales, improved service revenue recovery rates, decreased service rework, and improved company communication and culture. He has an Associate Degree in Business Management from Idaho State University.

“Shane brings extensive and valuable experience in the equipment industry, and he specializes in developing successful employees and operations. We look forward to building this partnership as we continue our focus on supporting dealers,” FWEDA President & CEO Joani Woelfel said.

Wilker owns The Shane Wilker Company (formerly The Training A.S.P.E.C.T.), which offers training and education to agriculture, construction and OPE dealership employees and management in various aspects of equipment dealer business including sales, customer service, inventory management, and communication.

In 2015, he established the Shannon Wilker Foundation on behalf of his late wife. The Foundation is a non-profit organization with proceeds going directly to help cancer patients and their families.

FWEDA is a not-for-profit trade association representing agricultural, industrial, outdoor power, and rental equipment dealers. They provide a unified voice protecting and promoting the interests of dealers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Established in 1946, FWEDA advocates for dealers at the local, state, and national level, and is an affiliate of the national Equipment Dealers Association.
