Duane Wallin was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on Oct. 1. Duane had an incredible work ethic and loved his career at John Deere and as a John Deere dealer in Colorado and Arizona, where he retired. Duane was also an instructor and consultant for the Ag industry, and a board member and past president of the Far West Equipment Dealers Association.

He enjoyed his church family at Pinal County Cowboy Church in Casa Grande, Arizona. He loved the Lord and his family, and he will be greatly missed by many. Duane is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jeanie Parr Wallin, his children Jason Wallin, Tricia Campbell and Amy Schwab, brother Denny Wallin, and his extended family.

There will be a Celebration of Duane’s Life at 10 a.m., Saturday Oct. 9, 2021, at the Pinal County Cowboy Church, 18171 W Hopi Drive, Casa Grande, AZ 85122. Services will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person.

Duane was born in Rock Island, Illinois, and raised on a dairy farm. He was active in 4-H, Future Farmers of America (FFA), and played sports. He attended Canton Community College (Now Spoon River Community College) at Canton, Illinois, earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Farm Machine Technology. He began his career in the equipment industry as a technician at a John Deere dealership at Lynn Center, Illinois, in 1967.  Duane joined the John Deere Harvester organization in 1974 and traveled extensively throughout the U.S and Canada for research and development of the combine factory until 1983. He worked in Combine Sales with major emphasis on Australia, Canada and the U.S., and then joined John Deere Company, Kansas City Branch as an area service manager and territory manager.

Duane and Jeanie bought into a dealership when the John Deere dealer in Garden City, Kansas, purchased Bi-State Machinery Co. Inc., a John Deere Dealership in Greeley, Colorado, where they relocated and became partners in 1990. Duane and Jeanie purchased the dealership, building and property from their former partner, and they eventually relocated to Arizona where they worked until Duane retired after 50 years in the equipment industry.

Duane was active in his church and the community, having served on the Greeley/Weld Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as chairman of the Greeley/Weld Chamber Ag Task Force Committee, on the board of directors of T-Bone Club Agri-business, and the John Deere North American Agricultural Training Advisory Board.
