Zero-Emission Truck Regulation — Advanced Clean Fleets — CARB Board Hears Proposal at First of Two Hearings, 9 a.m. Oct. 27

SACRAMENTO, California, Oct. 25, 2022 — The California Air Resources Board (CARB or Board) continues its efforts to ban the sale of new fuel-powered trucks with the first of two public hearings where the Board will consider the proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulation on October 27, 2022, and they would like your input. You can attend in person or register to attend virtually: Register here

The proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulation requires medium- and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers to sell only “zero-emission” vehicles starting in 2040 and requires three groups of truck fleet types to purchase an increasing percentage of “zero‑emission vehicles” over time. If adopted, CARB says the regulation would contribute toward achieving CARB’s emissions reduction goals for attaining federal health-based air quality standards and the State’s greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.

The Board wants to hear from everyone that might be affected by the proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulation. You can read and comment on the draft regulation language—see the Advanced Clean Fleets program webpage. Also, check out the factsheets that summarize the regulation, and stay informed about upcoming events by subscribing to CARB’s ZEV Fleet GovDelivery email list. You can access the October 27, 2022, Board hearing by webcast or you can attend in person in Sacramento. Click below for more information about this or other Board hearings.
